KNOX NEEDS…
Community. Meals. Mutual Aid. YOU!
Community. Meals. Mutual Aid. YOU!
Accessible food is a human right.
Knox Needs serves free, ready-to-eat meals daily at Sam Duff Memorial Park in South Knoxville, located near the intersection of Chapman Hwy and Moody Ave. There are no eligibility requirements, though our core target demographic are those who lack kitchen access, or otherwise lack the ability to prepare food for themselves.
Where/when are meals served?
We serve at Sam Duff Memorial Park’s covered picnic pavilion, near the playground, every day from 6-6:30. On Sundays and Mondays, there is an additional lunch meal served in the same place from 12-12:30.
Address: 4060 Chapman Hwy
For easiest access to the pavilion, turn off Chapman Hwy onto Moody Ave, and take the first right turn onto Hedgeapple Lane. The pavilion is visible from the road!
Knox Needs… Meals
Knox Needs believes that daily access to food is a human right, regardless of your living circumstances. This belief is the very core of the ready-to-eat meal program. Traditional food pantries may not be the right option for those who have no means to cook food that must be prepared before eating. Volunteers with the meal program prepare food in their own kitchens and distribute dozens of ready-to-eat meals per day at Sam Duff Memorial Park, located just off Chapman Hwy in South Knoxville.
